Entrepreneurial Class, Savings Program and Birthing of Gifts of Hope
The CCT Group of Ministries has been straightforward in terms of training Filipinos to have entrepreneurial mindset as part of their livelihood. We at Visions of Hope believe that by starting them young, we will be able to raise entrepreneurs who have the capacity to sustain themselves. How do we do that? We started with the young people residing in our Home Care ( Rose of Sharon, Magdalena and Kerith Ravine ) Our facilities have spacious places where they plant vegetable and fruit crops and take care of them until harvest. Once they are harvested, we sell them to our canteen, friends, partners and staff of the CCT Group. The income generated from the sales were given to the children and kept safe through the savings program. The goal of the entrep program is not just to raise business-minded leaders but for them to learn the process of running a business, which will include managing finances. VOH creates an avenue for our young people to go through it.
Gifts of Hope started as an idea on how we can develop and maximize the skills and creativity of the youth under Visions of Hope. To do so, we need to prepare a platform where they can showcase their products and serve as their livelihood. The idea behind Gifts of Hope is for it to act as the social enterprise of Visions of Hope Foundation and become its sustaining arm so that we can further expand our work among the different poverty sectors. Products sold at Gifts of Hope are handmade crochet glass holders, apparels like statement shirts, kiddie shirts – accessories like Beaded ID lace and souvenir mugs.
